Pastor’s Corner 11/6/2026

Dear Church Friends,

This Sunday, as we honor Indigenous people, Amos calls us to seek good and turn away from evil. The prophet says that songs and worship mean little when people ignore injustice. God calls for justice to flow like a river.

Decolonizing means noticing how colonization harmed Indigenous peoples by taking land, limiting their freedom, and pushing aside their languages and ways of life. It also means listening to Indigenous people today, honoring their leadership and rights, and learning the true history of the places where we live.

Amos asks us to make our worship visible in how we treat one another. We can seek good by standing against unfairness, caring for our neighbors, and making room for voices that have too often been ignored.

May our prayers lead us toward action, and may justice flow through our community like a strong, living river.
